Of great historical and ecological importance, Hatfield Forest is a designated SSSI and National Nature Reserve. The pollarded hornbeams and oaks support a wide variety of wildlife and there are many excellent walks and nature trails, as well as fishing in the lake (closed season – March to June). During summer cattle graze in the forest.There are no admission charges for this property, although a car park charge does apply.
