This famous gorge is 1 mile long and can be viewed from a circular walk, which starts high above the river and passes through attractive oak woods before dropping down to the dramatic 30m-high White Lady waterfall. The path then proceeds along an enchanting riverside walk through the steeply sided ravine, scooped out by the River Lyd as it plunges into a series of whirlpools, including the thrilling Devil's Cauldron.
There are Baby-changing and feeding facilities. Baby back-carriers admitted. Front-carrying baby slings and hip-carrying infant seats are available for loan. There is also an on-site Children's play area. Unsuitable for pushchairs due to terrain and width of some paths.
Refreshments are available from the Lydford Gorge Tea-room at the main entrance to the gorge. The cafe specialises in homemade cakes and other goodies.
