The Museum of Transport in the Kelvin Hall is one of the most popular museums of transport in the British Isles, attracting half a million visitors a year. Founded in 1964, it houses many exhibits of national and international importance. Depicting the history of transport on road, rail and sea over the centuries, the museum houses steam locomotives, electric and horse drawn trams, buses and cars.
Glasgow's Underground railway history is faithfully recreated in its own unique underground station. The history of bicycles and motor cycles is displayed and leads visitors to the beautiful "Clyde Room" where the original shipyard models of the Clyde's proud past are exhibited.
