There are 400 years of history that have been preserved at The Historic Dockyard Chatham. All manner of Naval vessels have been built, from the wooden sailing ships, right up to modern nuclear powered submarines.
Visitors can see 175 years of RNLI history in the lifeboat exhibition. There are 15 lifeboats on display, from Victorian to modern day vessels. It is possible to board some of the boats and see what the conditions are like. The dockyard has also featured in a number of films and TV series for many years, with the most recent examples being The Mummy and Tomorrow Never Dies.
