Brecknock Museum and Art Gallery

One of Wales' best loved museums and art galleries houses remarkable items on three floors of the early Victorian Brecknock Shire Hall. The Museum has a warm and comfortable feel and is a delight to explore.

The largest exhibit is the preserved Victorian Assize Court. A courtroom drama set during the1880 Assizes is spectacularly interpreted with thirty life-sized figures, sound and light. The ten-minute show starts at the press of a button. Prehistory, the Romans, and Dark Ages are also explored in Ancient Brecknock, which includes beautiful Celtic crosses and a famous dug-out canoe from nearby Llangors Lake.
