The Museum of Power, housed in the Steam Pumping Station at Langford, was set up to exhibit and demonstrate working examples of power sources of all types and chronicle the major roles that they have played in history.
Nothing can be achieved without the use of power in one form or another. From the time that cave dwellers started to make and use flint axes, hand power has been used to perform work. As time went on the need arose for more power and animals were harnessed to do the heavier work. Over the years, natural power sources such as wind, water, sunshine and atomic reaction have found a place in history.
