Bedale's Fire Engine of 1748 is the centre of a collection of local artifacts concerned with agriculture, bonnet making, shoemaking, butter and cheese production, carpentry and other trades.
Household appliances including irons, vacuum cleaners, washing and baking equipment. Phonographs, radios, toys, games and musical instruments and a display of 'pre-TV' leisure pursuits.
The museum, in a room in the Georgian wing of Bedale Hall, also boasts an extensive archive of local, family and area history.
