Tyne & Wear Museums

Tyne & Wear Museums is a federation of 10 museums and galleries on Tyneside and Wearside. They hold outstanding collections of art, science and technology, archaeology, military and social history, fashion and natural sciences of regional, national and international importance.

They have been awarded designated status by the DCMS in recognition of the national importance of these collections. Additionally, two of the sites: Arbeia and Segedunum, enjoy World Heritage Site status.

They are committed to free admission and encouraging the broadest possible access to its collections, exhibitions and programmes.

These museums include - Arbeia , Discovery, Hancock, Laing, Segedunum, SouthShields, Shipley, Stephenson, Sunderland and Monkwearmouth Museums.
