Lydford House is set in 8 acres of beautiful grounds within Dartmoor National Park and has been welcoming guests for more than a 100 years.

This 4 diamond establishment offers well appointed en-suite bedrooms, log fires in the guest lounge and genuine Italian cuisine created by our in house Italian chef in the garden room restaurant "La Cascata".

Stables allow the horses of guest to stay free and dog baskets are provided for canine companions. Private access onto the "Granite Way" off-road cycle path combined with on-site cycle hire can make for an alternative safe way to view the spectacular countryside.

The historic village of Lydford is a jewel in this area of outstanding scenic beauty. To the north, just half a mile away, the high tors come right down to the village edge, while to the south the River Lyd winds its way through Lydford Forest.

Facilities: Ther are also 2 well appointed self-contained apartments: The Coach House sleeping 6 is an enchanting garden apartment, occupies a ground floor wing of Lydford House, combining traditional country house style with contemporary 'open plan' living, the apartment offers accommodation of a very high standard. The Nest is a slightly smaller apartment on the second floor nestling under the eves with spectacular moor views.
Getting There: From Exeter take the A30 West bound direction Okehampton. After passing Okehampton leave this road at the A386 turning left onto the Bideford/Tavistock road direction Tavistock. The turning for Lydford is approximately 6 miles on the right opposite the Dartmoor Inn. We are 250 yards on the right just before the bridge into the village. From Plymouth head out on the A386, Tavistock road, pass through Tavistock heading for Okehampton, after 6 miles you will come to Lydford , turn left into the village opposite the Dartmoor Inn . We are 250 yards on the right just before the bridge into the village.
