'60 Albert Street' is a Victorian Town House between Wharton Park and Flass Vale, retaining a quiet, country ambience in the centre of the busy market in Durham. Recently opened, the building has undergone a complete restoration. Each room has been elegantly refurbished in keeping with it's original character by way of period wallpapers, furniture and decoration throughout.
The aim of the establishment is to offer a quiet, friendly and relaxing atmosphere within attractive surroundings. As only six people are catered for at any time guests can expect to receive a high standard of service, coupled with home cooking. Both English and Continental breakfasts are served each morning with a good range of choices available for all tastes and diets.
Albert Street remains one of Durham's most architecturally interesting and originally preserved streets. It lies just off the busy shopping area of North Road, which in turn leads to the river banks and market square.
