About The Old Rectory A retreat in which everyone can relax and be assured of their own space in beautiful surroundings, this lovely Grade II listed timber framed building dates from the 16th century. Behind its symmetrical Georgian façade, lie high quality furniture and furnishings which are in keeping with the times when the occupants of rectories were the younger sons of the landed gentry. Outside, in the mainly walled garden, stands a magnificent copper beech tree with the carvings of names of evacuees during the war. Peace and tranquillity prevail, whether it's outside on the terrace in the summer, inside in the winter with log fires or in beautifully decorated en suite bedrooms which enjoy spectacular views of the garden with its old English roses, mature shrubs and trees.
