With its address on Lemon Street, it's no wonder this is called Cafe Citron, but don't be fooled: the main event here is fresh, Cornish-caught fish in all its glory. The ambience is a singular blend of modern metro style tempered with the famous Cornish generosity of spirit. Add in top-drawer cooking applied to fresh, fresh, fresh produce and you have the equation for a really rewarding dining experience. Try dishes like grilled haddock fillet set on a tartare potato mash with marinated cherry tomatos, olives and sage, although there are terrific options for vegetarians and carnivores. Tapas like prawn and saffron risotto on mixed leaves and unsalted anchovies are on offer from noon till late. The open kitchen provides the in-house entertainment. You may end up making this your base of operations while down in the West Country, or your regular local if you're fortunate enough to live here.Average price - Under £24 (36)Citron's bar has a happy hour between 5pm and 6pm, Monday to Friday. Take full advantage of a cool Pimms or Sangria or even a pint, just for £1.50. Weird and wonderful wines are also available for tasting, ask at the bar for more details.
