How self-effacing that this long-running restaurant calls itself 'a trifle'. La Bagatelle has been delighting diners with its classic and inventive French cuisine since the mid-nineties.
It's a five-minute walk from the King's Theatre to this welcoming shopfront restaurant in Tollcross. The decor is eclectic, crossing styles and eras, though it adds up to a harming place in which to enjoy fine Gallic dishes.
Dishes include starter of roast pigeon with cannelloni of shiitaki mushrooms and confit of spring cabbage, main course of panfried veal with prunes and morel mushrooms, and dessert of millefeuille of raspberries and tuille biscuits with whipped cream.
