Baroque styles itself as Ealing's best-kept secret - regulars (and there are a few of them) agree. A little slice of clubby NYC cool on the Uxbridge Road, it provides a sophisticated haunt for local companies by day, and chilled 70s lounge bar by night. New Zealand-born Matthew Jans from Baltic Exchange in the City, along with his partner Julia (BBC News 24 business presenter), have also set up the kiwi kitchen @ baroque.
With experience ranging from some of the most well known hotels on the East Coast of Australia to cooking fine French cuisine and game and traditional English fare this man knows what he is doing. An all day menu offers Modern European comfort food, from soup and tapas to steak and chips. What really draws in the crowds is the extensive and imaginative cocktail menu. The perfect companion to Sunday brunch (only £5) is the Baroque Bloody Mary - it recharges your batteries a treat.
