Time was when Greek restaurants provided cheap and cheerful 'filling' food - ideal for late night dining after doing something else, but not really worth devoting a whole evening to. However, fuelled by the increasing number of people who have sampled real Greek cuisine on holiday and the 'nouvelle vague' of Greek Chefs in London, 'eating Greek' is turning into a totally different experience. Cafe Corfu is fortunate to have head chef Eudoxios Bekris, who has worked in Michelin starred restaurants across Europe and brings the right lightness of touch to the menu. Cafe Corfu goes a long way towards proving that Greece has one of the forgotten cuisines of Europe, and is well worth a visit to NW1. Not only that, but it is extremely good value, especially given the quality of the cooking, at around £15 to £25 a head for a two course meal.
