This beautifully converted Station provides the ultimate in luxurious extravagance. It is an impressive grade two-listed building, which has had royal visitors in the past. You can choose to stay in either the main station or in the Petworth Pullmans (as used on the Orient Express). They are from the same era as the Titanic and were built to offer their passenger's unrestrained luxury and comfort, with en suite bathrooms, central heating and plush furnishings. Each carriage has it's own name and unique personality and colourful history.
The main building has a magnificent guest lounge that was formerly the waiting room and has a 20 foot vaulted ceiling it leads out onto the platform, which is one of the venues for breakfast. The dining area backs onto the station masters' office, now the station kitchen, and features the original ticket windows. In winter breakfast is served accompanied by a roaring log fire in the booking hall.
