La Garrigue

A superb and truly French restaurant in the heart of Old Town, La Garrigue offers the best of country French cooking enlivened with creative touches by chef-patron Jean-Michel Gauffre.

The decor is modern rustic, with bare wooden floors, chairs and tables, the work of artist Tim Stead, offset by pale hyacinth walls. There are chatty notes on the menu. The ambience is relaxed.

This is true cuisine de terroir of the Languedoc, Gauffre's own home. Here you'll find starter of warm tomato and rosemary tarte, main course of classic cassoulet, served with walnut salad, and heavenly dessert of lavender-flavoured creme brule. The heavily southern French wine list offers quality and good value.
