From the outside the Inn on the Green looks like a charming country hostelry, possibly with quaint furniture and crackling log fires, not to mention something for the hungry traveller to eat. Inside, however, you'll find not only the charm of that fantasy country inn, modern conveniences and the genius of Michelin-starred chef Garry Hollihead masterminding the kitchen. If you liked Embassy in London, you'll find you love the same extraordinarily high level of cooking, drinks and service here in the lovely Berkshire countryside. The dining room itself is spread over three rooms, including a charming conservatory, and in summer there will be plenty of seating al fresco. The menu features dishes like fillet of venison "Wellington" with truffle sauce, sea bass, lemon thyme and parsley risotto and baby squid with tomato butter sauce.
