Raffles, named for the best hotel in the world, is a regal, elegant restaurant that features a marvellous selection of Malaysian cuisine, including Indian, Chinese and more purely Malay dishes. The ambience is that of a colonial ballroom, with fretwork screens, light, bright decor, wicker chairs, and crisp white tablecloths and gleaming silver and china. Classical music tinkles gently in the background. You have the choice of cuisines, we like starter of curry chicken and potato puff with Caesar salad, main course of lamb biryani, which is spiced lamb cooked with cashew nuts and screwpine leaves served with basmati rice, and a really nice pud of Nanas JB, which is fresh pineapple with dark rum, maple syrup, and vanilla ice cream. Do not neglect the amazing Singapore Slings.Average price - £25 (EUR 37)
