Part of the four-diamond Royal Oxford Hotel in, funnily enough, Oxford, Smollensky's provides a luxurious fine dining experience. Large glassy areas at both the front and back literally throw light on the subject during the day; while at night, artificial lighting creates a cosy atmosphere. Relaxing in the luxurious leather furniture, you can admire the chefs at work in the open-plan island at the centre of the room. The largely British menu - largely sourced from local farms - is based around the grill where most of it is prepared. If you don't want grilled food, never fear - there's also a decent choice of fish (e.g orange marinaded monkfish with romano tomatoes, courgette, crispy spring onions dressed with saffron and lemon), vegetarian eg. (bruschetta of goat's cheese with fresh figs and walnut dressing) and more European dishes to choose from.Average price - £28 (€39)In-house bar Savannah have an in-house bar that's ideal for a few pre-dinner drinks. Relax with a glass of white wine, red, rose, or champagne and soak up the restaurant's atmosphere.
