What a lovely restaurant. Thai on the River offers a high quality authentic menu in a minimalist setting. A certain warmth is achieved through soft lighting and lots of fresh orchids thoughtfully arranged around the modern dining room. Mieng gai, the signature starter, is beautifully presented and delicious. A mix of lightly spiced prawn or chicken with ground peanuts, shallots, peppercorns and garlic wrapped in fresh Thai spinach leaves offers mouthful after mouthful of exciting flavours. The green curry is also excellent. Less common are South Arabian jumbo prawns served with a fresh chilli sauce. Set menus make light work for the indecisive. Service is as sweet and can be, especially by manager, Luigi.
