In just over a year, has achieved great reviews and an enthusiastic set of regular diners for The Vale. The restaurant's three glass conservatories make the most of the fleeting English sunshine -- particularly welcome at brunch. The menu changes every day, so be prepared to experiment. Modern European cooking means inventive, flavourful borrowings from France, Italy and lands beyond, as well as revitalised favourites from home. A recent menu included, for instance, spicy lamb samosas with raita, and roast skate wing with caponata and basil oil. There are always vegetarian options, and the set lunch and dinner menus are enticingly priced.
