Marco Polo on the River

Born with an excellent pedigree as the sister restaurant of the popular La Nonna in Wimbledon, Marco Polo on the River is located just across the river from the exclusive Hurlingham Club and adjacent to Wandsworth Park. Decked out in dark woods and cream, the restaurant takes on a starry-eyed personality of its own with lighting of soft purples, pinks and oranges giving the mood of a beautiful port-side sunset - a perfect compliment to the stunning river views on offer. The extensive a la carte menu suits the romantic, relaxing atmosphere, giving traditional Italian food a modern Mediterranean accent. Starters include favourites from La Nonna such as Rocket salad topped with fresh figs and Parma ham layered in spicy orange and honey dressing, but also branch out into uncharted territory with offerings like chicken fanned with avocado and paw paw drizzled in red wine and olive oil.
