Lots of discreet lighting, wood panelling and oil paintings make this restaurant redolent of a gentlemen's club which in a way it is for bon viveur owner Richard Shepherd. The restaurant's own division bell means you can indulge in a slap up lunch and still make it back to the House for that all important vote. Other tables may be filled with affluent locals and celebs. In common with Giles Brandreth, Richard Shepherd has a thing about teddy bears and this could explain the presence of teddies dressed as king and queen in the wood panelled private dining room. Should you be unlucky enough to be thirteen for dinner one of the teddies will join you to make up the numbers. What's cooking? hot salmon and potato salad, lobster salad, monkfish wrapped in bacon with ratatouille, steak and kidney pie, roast rib of beef.Average price - £25-£34/€41-€56Paiges Star Trek inspired pub - populated with trekkies- next door to ashepards
