The Royal has a long-standing reputation for quality and first class hospitality, since it first opened its doors to guests in 1846. The hotels central location and friendly, relaxed atmosphere makes it the perfect location for a short holiday in the historic city of Bath.

This undoubtedly Georgian looking hotel was built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, to coincide with the arrival of the railway in Victorian times and the 'Royal' prefix was added as a reminder of Queen Victoria's visit to the City of Bath.

All 31 en suite bedrooms have recently been redecorated in keeping with the period character of the hotel, to offer traditional style accommodation with all the modern comforts.

The restaurant has an excellent reputation for a variety of freshly prepared dishes, complemented by first class service and attractive surroundings. The hotel has two bars, the Royal Lounge primarily used by residents and restaurant diners and the lively Sports Bar, which is popular with locals.
