The City gains a glamorous new eaterie and hails the return of chef Tom Ilic (formerly of Bonds at the Threadneedle Hotel), which makes Addendum a restaurant of note. Set in the so smart Apex Hotel, Addendum the restaurant is a dark and moody space with mushroom-coloured banquettes, leather chairs, walnut floors, and clever use of mirrors and amber lighting. This is fine dining featuring Ilic's own intensely-flavoured not-for-the-fainthearted cooking as well as inventive modern European cuisine. The menu changes regularly, and includes dishes like braised pig's cheek and chorizo with garlic and parsley mash, and roast saddle of lamb with spiced aubergine cannelloni and sauteed sweetbreads.
