This beautiful former coaching inn, court house and (depending on who you talk to) gallows in the centre of Weybridge has been taken over by the well-respected L'Auberge group of French restaurants. The affluent locals can now dine out in style in the comfort of their local. Fabulous. From the bar you pass through a low-lit lounge area, where large leather sofas are invitingly arranged before a real fire, and into a modern dining room of exposed brick walls, spotlights, dressed tables and polished wood flooring. Traditional best describes the daily-changing menu; popular starters being fish soup, foie gras, and goat's cheese salad. Reliably fine mains include a ribeye steak in peppercorn sauce, rack of lamb, and soft cheese ravioli - all served by reassuringly Gallic staff. Sundays sees the place full of families who love the roast beef.
