Blistering, blistering wine list. And so reasonably priced tears will spring to your eyes.
The Frontline Club is the public dining room of a members-only club, a haven for war correspondents and photojournalists, and a real find for anyone in this under-restauranted neighbourhood. The walls are lined with some of the most iconic pictures of war and conflict taken by heroes of the trade, yet the smart, airy dining room remains comfortably clubby and inviting. We suppose that if you've just come back from the hell of war, you might be comforted some high-standard British cooking and that's just what's on the menu here.
Try starter of Dorset mussels with mustard and chives, main course of slow-roasted leg of Barbary duck with British foie gras and winter veg, and dessert of apple and plum crumble pie. Menu changes seasonally and the handmade ice creams and sorbets are divine. Welcome home, chaps.
