The Slug and Lettuce - Godalming

The Slug & Lettuce brings a touch of smart city style to this beautiful old market town and the locals stream in to get a piece of it. Sited right in the High Street, Slug & Lettuce has two faces. The weekday one is chilled, so you can waft in and mellow out to piped-in jazz while you enjoy great pub food. On Fridays and Saturdays, the temperature rises and it gets, shall we say, lively, especially earlier in the evening before the untamed party animals head off to Guildford and beyond. As for the food, the slightly Gallic menu includes real favouites like char-grilled chicken and chorizo skewers with salad leaves and crème fraiche, main course of duck confit with mixed bean cassoulet, dessert of Eli's cookies and cream cheesecake with chocolate sauce. Superb drinks and great vibe.
