The advantage of a chain pub is you know exactly what you're going to get. Whereas Lloyds Bar sat opposite it in the Omni Centre yells 'party!', the Slug & Lettuce says 'chill.' Its big leather sofas, affordable cocktails, nice food and table service attract an informal crowd of 20 to 50-year-olds, sometimes older when the Royal Lyceum theatre next door has shows on.
