The inn has a charming olde worlde bar with exposed beams, an open fireplace and horse brasses with a drinking area at the upper end and informal dining at the lower end. A low-beamed non-smoking restaurant offers a table d'hote menu and blackboard daily specials.
7 en-suite bedrooms with matching pine furniture and doors offer all the modern facilities within a traditional design. Some famous people have reputedly stayed at the Cott, including King Charles I, William Prince of Orange and Daniel Defoe, to name but a few.
The Cott first opened to the public as an outlet for mead, ale, bacon and perry and today remainds still very much as it was some 700 years ago. It is a gem in its own right and is probably one of the most photographed Inns in the country and possibly the World.
