Come and visit Akebar, a stunning touring caravan, camping and holiday home park, set in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park in Lower Wensleydale.

Leave urban life behind; we are without night-clubs and fast food bars. We offer a natural environment of peace and tranquillity, which has been greatly enriched by the more than abundant blessings of nature, history and ancient settlements. Activities such as fishing, walking, golf, petanque, croquet and boules are all available, as well as our traditional pub situated at the entrance to the Park.

I couldn't believe the previous review when I read it - were they staying at the same park? The toilet and shower block looked brand new (can only speak for the ladies section) and the staff were very helpful and courteous when our regulator packed up ... Read More

We arrived early for the easter weekend knowing it was fully booked so we could get the best pitch. Halfway through setting up our tent in the same place we had camped on previous occasions we were told by a member of staff that we had to relocate to the other end of the field so he could cram as many caravans in as he could ... Visited in May 2007 - A big site with only two toilet blocks 1 at reception with only 3 cubicles dirty and youd be lucky to find any toilet paper in it, the other in the middle of the camp had the showers in with them also dirty and only 2 with locks on the doors!! we were sited next to a couple who argued after visiting the pub on site till bout 2am!!
