Explorers Lodge offers self-contained and B&B accommodation in New Norfolk in superb surrounds only 30mins from Hobart. Attractive large house only a few minutes from the centre of New Norfolk, yet on a quiet cul de sac, in a peaceful setting.

The self-catering cottage is ideal for a couple. An extra twin bedroom with its own bathroom is an optional extra, thus also making the unit ideal for 4 adults, or parents with two children. A washing machine, TV and cooking facilities as well as a large BBQ, are all provided.

The main homestead offers 4 en suite bedrooms with a choice of Queen beds, or Twin. A large sitting room with TV and an open fireplace in winter or airconditioning in summer, and a sunroom are all available exclusively for guests. Guests can also relax in the large garden and around the swimming pool.

Your hosts Nigel and Liz, invite you to stay for a week or more to take in the sights of Hobart, and the attractions of the Derwent Valley & New Norfolk.

Things to do: Visit Hobart and the Salamanca Market. Stroll around the lovely, historical waterfront, and sample Tasmaniá's seafood and wines; take in the 360 degree view at the top of Mt Wellington; visit the Cascade brewery and Cadbury Chocolate factory. Drive through the beautiful hop fields and pass the historical oasts houses to the nearby spectacular Mt Field National Park and view the famous Russell Falls, or hike one of the many thrilling hiking trails. Fly-fishermen can accept the challenge of the fast flowing Tyenna, Plenty and Styx rivers as well as the wide Derwent River. Drive a little further on to the Styx Valley's gigantic tree reserve, the trout filled lake Peddar or go boating on alpine lake St. Clair.
Further Information: Perfectly situated on your route to Strahan. Hire a boat to cruise or fish the Derwent River.
