- Mon Repos Beach - Australia's best known and most accessible Sea Turtle Rookery is located in Mon Repos, just a few kms north of The Point Resort. This area is an Environmental Park designed to protect the turtles. After dark between November and February, Loggerhead, Flatback & green turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. Tiny hatchlings can be seen emerging from their sandy nests between January and the end of March. Rangers provide informative presentations and conduct guided tours onto the beach to see this natural marvel. The turtles of Mon Repos Beach are one of the most inspiring attractions in the country and the Turtle Watching Season is between November and February each year.
