The Edinburgh Military Tattoo celebrates over 50 years of music and spectacle set against the world famous backdrop.
Watch world renowned regiments such as The Black Watch, The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, and The Royal Highland Fusiliers perform an extravaganza at the strangely secretive, menacing but still homely and human Edinburgh Castle.
The first Edinburgh Tattoo took place in 1950 and there were eight items in the programme. Today, more than 11 million people have attended the Tattoo, with the annual audience being around 217,000. This performance is a truly amazing spectacle and is at the heart of Scottish tradition.

- The Edinburgh Tattoo celebrates the Army in Scotland and features the largest gathering of Pipes & Drums ever to grace the floodlit esplanade of Edinburgh Castle. They will be joined by the Regimental Bands of The Scots Guards and the Coldstream Guards, Switzerland's awesome Top Secret Drum Corps, the ever-popular New Zealand Army Band, the haunting sound of the Lone Piper together with display teams and dance troupes from around the world.
