Glasgow University was founded in 1451, originally built in the High street area of the city. The University was moved to its current location in Glasgow's West end in 1879, and in the present day takes in student from all over the world to study at this prestigious university.

Visitors to Glasgow can now explore the Universities history, with a great selection of gifts and memorabilia for sale in the shop.

The Visitor centre has a range of attractions including public lectures and concert, with Gillmorehill frequently showing stage productions and film screening which the public can view. The Hunterian Museum is the oldest public museum in Scotland which covers 4,500 million years of evolution in a permanent exhibition. For those visitors who are art enthusiasts, The Hunterian Art Gallery holds works by the likes of Pissaro and McTaggart. The final main visitors attraction is the Zoology Museum, which hosts displays of the diversity of the animal kingdom.
