The University's historic buildings form an integral part of Edinburgh city. It is possible to take a tour and explore some of the universities most interesting architectural heritage. In contrast to many newer, campus based universities; Edinburgh's buildings (many of architectural and historic interest) are an inseparable part of the city in which they are sited. Grouped in a series of precincts, these include the magnificent Old College, close to the Royal Mile.
