The University of Manchester is located in the heart of the city centre, with a vibrant nightlife and wide range of attractions for visitors to experience.
The University of Manchester was most recently formed in 2004 when Victoria University of Manchester and UMIST merged together receiving Royal Charter from the Queen on the 22nd October 2004. The University now has the largest number of full time students and widest range of academic subjects in comparison to any other universities in the UK.
The University of Manchester hosts a range of attractions in the heart of it's campus, and around the local area, including The Manchester Academy which has hosted a range of music's finest acts. The Manchester Museum features over 6 million items, ranging from native art from Australia, to mammals and ancient Egyptian craftmanship from Africa. For those physics enthusiasts, The Jodrell Bank visitors centre is an ideal place to visit with its 3D theatre, exhibition space and café, alongisde oppurtunities to explore a range of trails and habitats of the arboretum's 35 acres, and two thousand species of trees and shrubs.
Alongside the University attractions, Manchester also offers visitors a variety of experiences, with its wide range of restaurants, bars and clubs, as well as famous sports venues and vast array of shops.
