Tyn-y-Wern Country House is a guesthouse situated just 30 minutes from Cardiff. It is a Victorian mine manager's residence which has been restored to its former glory, offering superb views and countryside. It lies in the valley of the Clydach River. It is an ideal retreat for walkers, cyclists and country lovers because of the endless miles of hills and forestry. Ynysybwl is a rural retreat but close to the coast and many attractions such as Cardiff and the Cardiff Bay Development.
The house has a 3 star certificate and offers a double en-suite, 1 double and 1 twin. The house has great facilities including a lounge with a log fire for those cold evenings, kennels for dogs and cats, lock up for bikes, babysitting and walker's and biker's routes. All rooms have T.V and tea/coffee making facilities and are tastefully furnished.
You can also stay at the Griafolen & Ffawydden self-catering lodges, which sleeps 2-4 people. They have 1 double/twin bedroom, shower room, and sitting room with cooking area that also has a double bed settee. They also have T.V/Video and Hi-Fi units. The decking balcony etends the full length of the lodge and offers an excellent place to sit and relax. There is also a games and garden room with a pool table and table tennis for all ages.
