The Hayward Gallery is part of the South Bank Centre which includes the Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Purcel Rooms and the Poetry Library. The Gallery was opened in 1968. It is an icon of sixties brutalist architecture and is one of the few remaining buildings of this style.
As one of Londons most prominant spaces for contemporary art, this excellent gallery regularly hosts a variety of excellent exhibitions and events and talks. The venue is also available for hire and provides workshops too for education programs.
