Ballycastle Backpackers is a six-bedroom 18th century house and traditional Irish cottage that are the ideal places to stay when visiting the Causeway coast and Glens of Antrim. The establishments are situated on the sea front area of Ballycastle, home of the famous Ould Lammas Fair and located near the world famous landmarks such as the Giant's Causeway and Carrick a Rede rope bridge.

The accommodation comprises of private, double/twin rooms, a dorm room (6 beds) and a family room. Some rooms are graced with fantastic views. Facilities include a fully equipped Kitchen and also a lounge where you can chat with other guests and compare travel experiences. The house is suitable for group bookings, for walkers, cyclists, climbers, divers, anglers, artists, and writers.

The Hostel overlooks the beach, the marina, Rathlin Island, Fairhead and Scotland if there is no Irish Mist. The proprietors provide a home from home in this close-knit community located in one of the most Beautiful places in Ireland. The Hostel is located just two minutes walk from the Rathlin Ferry terminal and opposite the Bus stop for Belfast, Giants Causeway, Carrick a Rede, Coleraine, and Glens of Antrim

Local Area
This small sea-side town, located on the north Antrim coast is renowned for its friendliness and hospitality not to mention it outstanding beauty. You will find this unique hospitality in the local pubs, where you can enjoy traditional Irish music most nights of the week during the tourist season. The town hosts the oldest fair in Ireland, the Lammas Fair, which takes place on the last Monday and Tuesday of August and more recently the Fairhead Folk Festival and the Children of Lir festival. It is an excellent base to visit many of the area's famous landmarks and places such as Fairhead, the Giant's Causeway, Carrick a Rede Rope bridge, Rathlin Island, Knocklayde, Bushmills Distillery and the Glens of Antrim.
Getting There
If you are driving from Belfast take the M2 motorway to Ballymena, at Ballymena follow the signs for Ballycastle. If you are making your way by bus from Belfast you can take the daily service from the Ulsterbus Laganside Bus Station. Once you reach Ballycastle get out at the Marine corner and the Hostel is directly across from the bus stop beside the Marine Hotel

If you are making your way by bus from Belfast you can take the daily service from the Ulsterbus Laganside Bus Station. Once you reach Ballycastle get out at the Marine corner and the Hostel is directly across from the bus stop beside the Marine Hotel
