Dyffryn Castell is a family run hotel situated in the wonderful Mid Wales Mountains and is only a 20-minute drive from Aberystwyth. Dyffryn Castell is over 400 years old and was originally a Coaching Inn where the horses that pulled the Mall Coach between London and Aberystwyth were changed. The stables have since been pulled down but there is now a beer garden in their place. We are renowned for our excellent food and hospitality by locals and past guests.
Modern facilities have been combined with the hotel's traditional character to offer both comfort and atmosphere. Most of the bedrooms are en-suite and include colour TV's, tea and coffee making facilities, central heating and direct dial telephones. We provide a bar with beer garden, a restaurant where home-cooked meals are served. Our sons produce nearly all the lamb and pork used on the Sunday lunch menu.
The hotel is set on the route of the Cambrian Way Long Distance Footpath and at the foot of the slopes of Plynlimon. The hotel is in easy reach of the picturesque Elan Valley and to the west you will find Ceredigion Heritage Coast, which boasts fantastic coastal scenery, beaches, birdlife, seals and dolphins. There are many facilities nearby such as water sports facilities, golf courses, off-road driving, cycling facilities, running, walking and climbing facilities, pony trekking, and business facilities.
