The Urbis Centre is situated in the heart of Manchester city centre, and is clearly visible due to its striking architectural structure.

The Urbis centre celebrates urban life, with a range of interactive exhibits, which take visitors on a journey through different cities around the world. The Urbis centre also contains a range of changing exhibitions, which offer unique insights into the culture of the modern city, with innovative explorations of design, architecture, graffiti, music and the urban environment.

The Urbis offers a variety of guided tours, which focus on the exhibition floors, and unique architecture of the building alongside tours of the area, which explores some of Manchester's oldest and newest buildings. The Urbis is currently running an exhibition, which commemorates the IRA bomb on June 15th 1996. Every cloud: Ten Years After the Manchester Bomb recalls the huge dust of cloud thrown up by the impact of the bomb with a re-creation by Manchester school children constructed from 80,00 pieces of paper.
