The Old Green Tree dates back to pre752 .The prominent beam running across the middle of the bar marks the old back wall of the pub. For many of the years prior to the extension, the pub had its own brewery' in its back yard.
In 1923 the pub was extended to take on its present day form and the oak panelling and wooden floors were put in. It was, at the time, a theme pub, reminiscent of the Victorian glory' days of the public house. The pub has hardly been altered since that time.
It offers three oak panelled rooms, each with access to the bar, with an approximate capacity of 100. Brass numbers on the doors date back to the 1920's when the Customs and Excise of the day required each drinking area or drink storage space to be numbered.
