Locals have been using Lizards as a meeting and eating point for years - its lush surrounds are enough to make you think you were in the Botanical Gardens. Sprawling fig trees shade the tables throughout the generous dining space, which is also bordered by lush, tropical palms and bamboo.
This blends well with the covered bar and grill area, which uses a combination of wood and corrugated iron to encourage that outdoorsy feeling. The mod-Oz menu has some diverse options, led by the Cajun seafood salad, which is well-matched by a glass of Richmond Grove chardonnay.
However, they specialise in steaks. A scotch fillet, cooked to your liking, with a choice of five sauces is hard to pass up - especially when washed down with a glass of Wyndham Estate Bin 444.
