If you are a fan of Real Ales and you are searching for a friendly environment with quality beer and food, this little freehouse so close to Trafalgar Square & Covent Garden comes as something of a surprise.

The regular ales are Timothy Taylor Landlord, Harvey's and Black Sheep, with two guest beers also on offer. The pub's tasty sausage (there are several varieties to choose from) sandwiches do the business too. This one fills up most evenings but if you can find a seat, or catch it at a quieter time a visit is highly recommended.

Keep an eye out for the oil paintings - the one of a young James Mason is especially fine.
