Newquay's oldest restaurant, Ye Olde Dolphin has it's own unique ambience that takes you back through time. Admire the old harbour pictures, the bric-a-brac hanging from the walls & ceilings, pictures of local fishermen, Cornish lobster pots and much more.
Situated at the top of the harbour the restaurant is in the ideal position to take full advantage of the many different species of fish and shellfish landed on a daily basis. Over ninety five percent of the fish and shellfish cooked at the restaurant, from line caught sea bass to fresh crab and lobsters, comes from Newquay boats. Over seventy five percent of the restaurant's customers are regulars. It wins by word of mouth because they are eating the very finest fish in the UK.
The restaurant made a substantial investment last year in the shape of it's own boat. Operating out of the Newquay harbour, "Tryphena" is an 18ft Plymouth Pilot, fully licensed to catch lobsters, crab and fish. Ye Olde Dolphin is unique in the fact that the restaurant is probably the only one in the country catching its own wet fish and shellfish.
The menu is extensive, with over fifty meals to choose from, Honey Roast Duck, 16oz T-Bone and Creamy Vegetable Bake to name a few. We are children friendly up until 8pm when it's time for the adults to relax and enjoy.
