This is one of London's most striking Victorian pubs with splendid cut glass mirrors, fine upholstery and a magnificent bar. A recent refurbishment has returned The Salisbury to all its original glory. There is a spacious main bar and a more intimate snug. As befits this environment the menu is traditional English pub fayre of a very high quality. At The Salisbury there are always four traditional cask ales on tap such as Courage Directors and Theakston's. The selection rotates and there is always something to suit everybody. In addition, John Smith's, Guinness, Becks, Fosters, Kronenbourg and Strongbow Cider are always on hand. There is a good selection of bottled beer and a well chosen and reasonably priced choice of wine. There are many good things about The Salisbury which are reassuring and consistent, not least the very pleasant and helpful staff. One has the distinct feeling that staff and management are glad to see you, to welcome new faces and the return of old friends.
