Sylvia Plath was inspired by the Primrose Hill area within close proximity to the vibrancy of London city centre, as were many of her contemporaries. She spent most of her adult life in this colourful house and wrote some of her most famous works here.

Originally of American birth, Plath married the poet Ted Hughes after meeting at Cambridge University. Unfortunately she took her own life, but not after she had created some of the most renowned poems of the 20th Century.
