Cecil Sharp House

The Cecil Sharp building has housed the English Folk Dance and Song Society for more than a hundred years. The society's mission is to defend and preserve the major English dances and songs that are gradually being forgotten over the ages.

They hold regular open days and the centre provides workshops and seminars covering all aspects of English dance and song, as well as providing an administrative base for the organisastion.

English Dance & Song is the longest-established magazine devoted to folk music, dance and song in the country. First published in 1936, it has appeared at least four times a year ever since.

Cecil Sharp House is available for private functions. The various halls and rooms are perfect for any event, located in the heart of popular Camden, yet at competitive rates.
